About Steam 97 Application
The steam tables application calculates 30 thermodynamic and transport properties of water and steam is SI and English units. It allows 16 different combinations of input variables to be used for calculations.
Input variables that can be used are:

- 6 Internal energy
- 7 Steam quality

Used Formulations
The library uses new industrial formulation for steam tables, called "IAPWS Industrial Formulation 1997 for the Thermodynamic Properties of Water and Steam (IAPWS-IF97)", and replaces the previous industrial formulation for steam tables, IFC-67.
IAPWS-IF97 improves significantly both accuracy and speed of the calculation of the thermodynamic properties compared with the old formulation.
For transport properties calculations are based on the latest internationally accepted equations also available from IAPWS.
Steam 97 Application Functionality
The Steam97 is a standard win32 application. It is very ease to use, after selection of units (SI or English are supported) and completed calculation for entered parameters, results are displayed in the output table.
Obtained results can be saved to a file, printed, or copy and pasted to Excel or any other application.
Calculated points can be displayed on seven different steam diagrams and steam diagrams can be copy and pasted to Excel or any other application that allows image insertion.
Steam diagrams are available only in SI units.
For calculations performed in English units, points are first converted to SI units and then displayed on SI diagrams.

User privileges
Installation of the application requires administrative privileges.
Use of the applications requires standard user privileges or better.

Range of Validity
The entire set of equations of the IAPWS-IF97, used by the application for calculation of thermodynamic properties, is defined by the following temperature and pressure range:
- 273.15 K <= T < = 1073.15 K p < = 100 MPa
- 1073.15 K < T < = 2273.15 K p < = 50 MPa
